5 Best Sports To Do on Bonaire

Updated: Dec 6, 2019

1. WINDSURFING

Bonaire is one of the best and most famous windsurfing destination in the World. At Sorobon Beach in Lac Bay you can find an enclosed lagoon with waist-high sea and an inland-blowing wind blowing, making it the safest and most convenient windsurfing spot there is. With its turquoise sea and white sand, it also qualifies as one of the prettiest windsurfing beaches on the planet. No wonder Bonaire bread so many windsurfing World champions!

2. KITESURFING

This magical and windy island is also perfect for kitesurfing at Atlantis Kitebeach, so give it a go if you want to try flying.

3. FREEDIVING

Again, Bonaire is one of the World’s top freediving locations as it provides very accessible depth and clear and calm waters. 200 meters depth can be found at around 50 meters from shore, and a year-round constant sea temperature of 27 degrees Celsius makes it ideal for one-breath adventures into the deep blue. 4. SNORKELLING AND SCUBA DIVING

Snorkelling is a must as Bonaire is known for an abundance of corals and tropical fish. If you want to take it a step further you can try scuba diving and stay underwater for longer and explore the underwater world even further.

COOL INFO: Bonaire’s car plates say ‘Diver’s Paradise’ so there really is no dilemma here!

5. YOGA AND MEDITATION ON THE BEACH

What better place to exercise the mind than on the beach? Your eyes can wonder into infinity, you can set your breathing pace to the rhythm of the crashing waves and therefore fully relax and tune into nature and into yourself. Bonaire’s beaches offer spectacular views which are most enhanced at sunrise and sunset and are perfect for cleansing the soul.
